I'm pleased to say that my camera got some good use at my visit to RAF Coningsby

After a 3 hour and 50 minute venture up to Coningsby in Lincolnshire I was hoping to get some clear shots of the infamous RAF Eurofighter Typhoon's. The Eurofighter Typhoon is a highly agile aircraft, designed to be a supremely effective dogfighter in combat.

After a few hours waiting around and a couple of donuts later BOOM we heard one of the engines fire up and my camera was at the ready.
Not only is it a great privilage to see the RAF Pilots flying their multi million pound machines but to see the spectacular flying display they put on for us was truly breath-taking.
With only 700 metres needed to get these war machines in the air the first two planes we saw went practically vertical into the air and we lost sight of them in the clouds. The roar of the twin engines is truly spectacular. The next two jets flew straight over our heads and for the next few hours a flurry of planes followed allowing me lots of opportunities to get a couple of shots off.
It is such a shame we could only see them fly the one day, but not to worry we have already discussed arranging another visit soon. Thanks to Lisa (my wife) and the kids. They were absolute angels but they most definitely enjoyed just as much as me.
All of the images in this blog are just a couple of pics we took on the day and I was really pleased with the results. If you have any comments on the pics I would love to hear from you.
Thanks Martin
